A Plague Tale: Innocence Monsters Trailer

A Plague Tale: Innocence Monsters trailer shows us the brutality of man

The A Plague Tale: Innocence Monsters trailer is here and it has a focus on a somewhat different kind of monster. Although there are legions of terrifying rats stalking the darkness of plague-ridden France, this particular trailer chooses to focus on the Inquisition, its terrible soldiers, and the evil man behind the whole scenario.

We’re still learning more about the story of this game and the A Plague Tale: Innocence Monsters trailer gives us a little more insight into why Amicia and Hugo de Rune have to go on the run from the Inquisition. Vitalis, the mysterious master of the Inquisition in France, has sent out his commander Lord Nicholas to capture Amicia and Hugo. Backed by an army of soldiers, The de Rune siblings’ only choice is to run for their lives, using their wits and alchemical skills to ambush or outright avoid their enemies rather than confronting them directly.

Throughout the trailer, we get to see several scenes of brutality at the hands of the Inquisition. They pursue their quarry relentlessly, beating or killing anyone who happens to get in their way. We’re shown several different harrowing scenes where Amicia and Hugo are in mortal danger, either from the Inquisition, bandits, rats, or environmental hazards like fires. (And let’s be honest, those fires were probably set by the Inquisition in the first place.) We also learn that the Inquisition’s leader Vitalis appears to be pursuing the de Rune siblings at the behest of the French king, although we still don’t know why exactly the king wants them found.
