Darksiders 2 switch

Darksiders 2 Switch version hinted at by retail listing

There’s no question that THQ Nordic’s support for the Nintendo Switch has been solid thus far. Along with smaller titles, we’ve also seen blockbusters like Darksiders Warmastered Edition and the upcoming Red Faction Guerrilla ReMARStered. But now a new listing suggests that Death will come pay a visit this fall with a Darksiders 2 Switch port.

This EB Games Canada listing indicates that Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition will make its debut on the handheld/console hybrid later this summer. The game came out for other platforms, including Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC after its original, vanilla release on the previous generation.

It’s not a total surprise to see Darksiders 2 make the journey to the system. THQ Nordic did previously release the game alongside the Wii U when it launched back in 2012. The first Darksiders also came to the Switch last year too.

THQ Nordic has not officially confirmed the port just yet. However, E3 is just around the corner. And more than likely, the publisher will have some big titles in store, including Darksiders 2. However, it isn’t likely that Darksiders 3 will come to the Switch, given its vast array of technical problems on more powerful hardware.

For those that missed it, here’s the game’s official description:

“What starts with War, ends in Death. Awakened by the End of Days, Death, the most feared of the legendary Four Horsemen, embarks upon a quest to restore mankind, and redeem his brother’s name. Along the way, the Horseman discovers that there are far worse things than an earthly Apocalypse, and that an ancient grudge may threaten all of Creation.”

Pricing hasn’t been made official just yet, but EB Games has it at $29.99 which is also what Warmastered sells for. Its current, unconfirmed release date is slated for August 30, 2019.

We’ll let you know as soon as the announcement becomes official and whether or not you’ll be able to take Death on the go.
