The Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered reveal trailer is here, giving us our first solid look at the HD version of a game first released to the world nearly a decade ago. The Ghostbusters movies are absolute classics (well, two of them, anyway) and the much-awaited conclusion to the trilogy never truly came to pass. What we got instead was a video game starring the voice talents of the original actors in a continuation of the story in a different medium. Now, that game has been revived with some shiny new graphics for the modern era!
The trailer opens with a television commercial for the Ghostbusters which gradually transitions into scenes of spectral energy exploding all throughout New York City. The Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered reveal trailer then shows their vehicle the Ecto-1 driving through a cemetery. The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man returns to destroy the city once again, with Ray Stantz assuring his companions that it wasn’t his fault that it appeared this time.
We then transition to several scenes from the game, beautifully remastered in HD. The Ghostbusters face all sorts of strange, otherworldly entities using their proton packs and slime cannons. The trailer makes a point of showing that the voice acting talents of Bill Murray, Dan Akyrod, the late Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson are out in full force for this glorious blast from the past. The trailer concludes with a splash screen showing that Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered will arrive sometime in 2019.
The Ghostbusters game has previously been removed from the Steam Store in early 2017, but we got the good news that the remastered version was rated in Taiwan earlier this month. Now we know for certain that it’s coming to the PS4! No prices or other platforms have been announced. Watch the Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered reveal trailer for yourself below and take a trip down memory lane!
