The last of us 2 release date

The Last of Us 2 release date is currently set for February 2020, hints analyst

The Last of Us 2 release date is set for February 2020, at least according to some hints from an analyst and a slip-up from voice actress Ashley Johnson. During an interview, Johnson almost said the date before getting cut off. An analyst later confirmed people’s suspicions, and it’s looking like February 2020 might be the month we get to play The Last of Us 2.

In an interview with Critical Role’s Brian W. Foster, Johnson was asked about the potential release date for The Last of Us 2. Johnson is the voice actress for the game’s protagonist Ellie. She begins to respond with, “I think it’s coming out in Fe…” before Foster continues with another question.

After the clip hit the internet, speculation started ramping up. In a comment on the story on Resetera, senior analyst Daniel Ahmad, better known as ZhugeEX, confirmed, “It’s the current internal release date, yes.” With the internal release date all but confirmed, players can hope that the game stays on target and we see it in stores next February.

The Last of Us 2 is the highly-anticipated sequel to Naughty Dog’s critically-acclaimed hit The Last of Us. The action-adventure game is set five years after the original The Last of Us and has the player take control of Ellie as she comes into contact with a cult in the post-apocalyptic United States. There have been multiple teasers and trailers released, though the previous protagonist Joel is still largely missing. Game director Neil Druckmann has confirmed that The Last of Us 2 does revolve around Joel and Ellie, so we should see more of him as we approach the release window.
