We finally got our first look at The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake Tal Tal Heights, Mr. Write, and Dampe in some brand-new footage that was captured by GameXplain. This is the first time that we’re seeing these elements of the revived classic that originally released on the Game Boy in the brand-new art style that shows a colorful, vibrant version of Koholint Island.
The Link’s Awakening Tal Tal Heights video opens in a cave in a somewhat precarious situation: Link has only a single heart as he approaches a chest to grab the Roc’s Feather. This feather allows Link to jump, gaining access to some new areas. The next stop is Mr. Write, a man who lives in a tiny hut and enjoys writing letters to people. (Unfortunately for him, he never receives any replies.) Our hero then moves outside and dodges some Moblins before climbing up a ladder to the Tal Tal Mountain Range.
Strangely, the person playing The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening decides to stop and idly stare at an owl statue for several seconds. He then turns back away from the statue and jumps back down off of the mountain, heading back towards the Moblins and getting into a fight with them. The scene then fades to another part of the game where we see Link get a Piece of Heart in the Koholint Prairie, an item that is now accessible thanks to the use of the Roc’s Feather.
Link then heads up into the Tal Tal Heights and jumps around a bit before eventually moving to the stone hut occupied by Dampe. Dampe is working on something mysterious, but Link is unable to discover anything interesting. It is here that the footage ends. You can watch The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Tal Tal Heights, Mr. Write, and Dampe in action in the video below.
