E3 is just over a week away and excitement is building for the big event. Konami is kicking things off a little early with a pre-E3 event on June 2nd.
We'll be there live, and according to the most recent Kojima Productions podcast, so will Hideo Kojima and team, ready to make some "special announcements".
What exactly do the Metal Gear Solid developers have in tow? More Metal Gear, me thinks. A solid release date for Snake Eater 3DS is almost guaranteed. A HD remastering of the PSP-exclusive Peace Walker is a safe bet. There's a good chance we'll see something on the strangely quiet Metal Gear Solid: Rising. And maybe… just maybe, we'll see a proper Metal Gear Solid 5.
Wouldn't that be awesome? If you were hoping for something outside of the Metal Gear Solid universe, you may be in for some disappointment, just like Kojima was when Konami pulled the plug on his new project.
Knowing Kojima he was probably taking a risk, something that Konami was too nervous to go with in this economic climate. Instead, Konami was more than likely pushing Kojima to focus on what pays the bills, Metal Gear.
I can't say I'm too upset about that, though. You?
