Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far

Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far collection listed for Xbox One on Amazon UK

In what could be a mistake or a sign of things to come, Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far was listed on Amazon UK as an Xbox One game. With Kingdom Hearts III out for Xbox One for several months now, it may seem odd to release a lead-up collection so much later. However, Xbox One users could hope it’s a case of “better late than never” and see the collection head their way.

While the most likely scenario is that a mistake was made, the Amazon UK listing comes from Square Enix itself rather than a third-party seller. This lends some credibility to Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far possibly coming to Xbox, though Amazon US still has it listed as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. With Kingdom Hearts III giving Xbox users the game’s attention for the first time in the series’ history, it would be nice to see the other games get ports as well.

Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far is an aptly-named collection made to bring new players up-to-speed before diving into Kingdom Hearts III. It’s an easy, all-in-one way to catch up on the many adventures of Sora, Donald Duck, and Goofy through all of the events leading to the newest game. The collection includes:

  • Kingdom Hearts Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories
  • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics)
  • Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix
  • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD Remastered cinematics)
  • Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD
  • Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep
  • Kingdom Hearts x Back Cover (movie)

Regardless of whether or not a mistake was made, both Xbox and PlayStation fans of Kingdom Hearts have something to look forward to this winter. The major Kingdom Hearts III DLC expansion ReMIND will launch and bring with it a slew of new content. We got the trailer at E3, but further details are still scarce. In the meantime, we can wait and see whether or not Amazon UK simply made a mistake or jumped the gun on a big announcement.
