No More Heroes, No More Heroes 2 PS4 remasters teased by Suda51

With Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes set to arrive on PlayStation 4, fans may be wondering if a No More Heroes PS4 remaster is a possibility. Now, creator Suda51 has hinted that both No More Heroes, and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle may be coming to PlayStation 4.

In a recent interview, Dengeki Online asked Suda51 (real name Goichi Suda) about the possibility of the first two games in the franchise coming to PlayStation 4. In response to this, Suda51 stated that he was “currently discussing it” with publisher Marvelous Entertainments. Additionally, he stated that the talks with Marvelous on the PS4 ports have gone well and that fans can expect an announcement regarding them may be coming soon.

Starring the beam katana-wielding Travis Touchdown, Grasshopper Manufacture’s No More Heroes satirizes the open-world genre and has a bit of fun with it. The games feature Suda51 and his team’s oddball sense of humor, giving it a unique feel compared to other games in the same genre.

The franchise however has had a tenuous relationship with PlayStation consoles. The first game released first on the Nintendo Wii in 2007 before eventually being ported to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise in 2010. No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle on the other hand has never made its way outside of the Wii.

The latest game in the series, the recently announced No More Heroes 3 continues the franchise’s tradition of being a Nintendo exclusive, releasing solely on the Switch next year. That said, the fact that Grasshopper is considering bringing the first two games to PlayStation 4, on top of Travis Strikes Again‘s impending release on the system, may hint that they’re open to bringing No More Heroes 3 to the console in the future. Perhaps if the proposed remasters of No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2 do well enough, Grasshopper will bring the third game over as well.
