If you’re a Nintendo Switch owner, then odds are that there have been times that you’d have liked to be able to dock your Switch when you weren’t at home. Whether it be a road trip, flight, or at a friends house, having a portable Nintendo Switch Dock would certainly make the life of a Switch owner much easier. Well, you could potentially own a portable dock for your Switch in the near future thanks to a new Kickstarter campaign.
Created by a company called Human Things, a new idea for a small, covet, and portable Nintendo Switch Dock has been proposed – and it’s overflowing with support. Created just over a month ago with a goal of $50,000, it seems backers have just recently discovered this clever design and are rushing in to back it. With over $164,000 pledged at the time of writing, the portable Switch Dock has more than tripled its funding goal and shows no signs of slowing down.

As you can see in the picture above, the dock itself will need to be plugged into a wall outlet. From there, players can connect their Switch to the dock with a USB cord and then run an HDMI cord from the portable dock to their TV. Pretty simple, right? And the best part is that when you’re ready to go, the portable Nintendo Switch Dock can fit into your pocket.
One concern that a lot of players might have surrounds the Switch bricking issue when used with third-party devices. However, one of the engineers of the dock, Andrew Geng, took a deep dive into the bricking issue and discovered that the consoles were bricking due to “poor components overloading the M92T36 chip.” With this discovery, Human Things are confident that its portable Nintendo Switch Dock will be perfectly safe. If you’re still skeptical, you can read more about it on the Kickstarter page.
There is still a bit of time to go until backers will receive their dock, as Human Things doesn’t plan to ship them until December. However, you can reserve your dock now for $50.
