No Man's Sky Final Update

No Man’s Sky Beyond won’t be the final update, more content coming

Are we approaching the No Man’s Sky final update? With the upcoming release of No Man’s Sky Beyond, some fans may be concerned that this massive content patch that introduces multiplayer gameplay and many other new features is going to be the last update for Hello Games’ sandbox exploration game. Thankfully, Sean Murray has some good news for those of you out there who may be worried about the future of the game.

“Even though we’ve got a lot of things in [No Man’s Sky Beyond], there’s also a lot of things that just didn’t make it that even now I can see we’re going to spend the next few months after release doing,” Mr. Murray said in an interview with Game Informer. “We’re committed to doing a season (at least) of really regular updates, community events, and things like that.”

It’s certainly safe to say that this won’t be the No Man’s Sky final update, but another question arises: If this isn’t the end, what can players expect to see in the future? Mr. Murray was kind enough to give us a tiny hint at some of the things the developers have planned in the coming months.

“[We’ve] got whole new systems to make them more social, and do global community events where we send everyone to a certain planet to go and dig up fossils or whatever,” he concluded.

Thankfully, Beyond won’t be the No Man’s Sky final update. It seems that players will be able to look forward to community events and all sorts of other content that they can enjoy with their friends when the multiplayer experience launches properly in the new update. You’ll be able to play No Man’s Sky together with a few of your friends when it launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on August 14, 2019.
