Without a 2K Games booth at E3, I and many other show-goers felt like something was missing, like that big stretch of open seating where Duke Nukem and his school girl booth babes sat only a year go felt emptier and sadder than ever before. Of course, lacking a booth on the show floor doesn't mean the publisher is without games to get excited about this Fall.
Chief among those games has to be The Bureau: XCOM Declassified, which shows off it's sorta-Mass Effect-but-maybe-more-tactical third-person shooter gameplay in the video above. The interface players use to tactically control the action is called "Battle Focus" and you can see that rotating between your squad mates gives you different power options.
The big focus on this video is that the player doesn't fire a single round. Not one time does the player pull the trigger him or herself in this video. Instead, commanding squad mates to use and combine powers elminates each alien threat.
While I still have a few misgivings about the change from X-COM Enemy Unknown's strictly turn-based and tactical "classic" gaming, this looks a lot better than what I saw years ago. Besides, I can't deny the Council.
