overwatch switch port

Overwatch Switch port officially announced

After rumors, reports, and leaked cases, it turns out that the Overwatch Switch port is indeed real and coming soon. Nintendo announced it today during its Nintendo Direct. The game will come out next month on October 15. It will be $40 and will include a Gold Loot Box that guarantees a Legendary item.

In addition to the loot box, it also comes with a redeemable code for three-month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online, five Legendary skins, five Epic skins, and five Origins skins. The latter five skins are the skins that show the heroes in their younger days. The eShop also lists the game as being 12.1 GB. People who pre-purchase the game on the eShop will get the Noire Widowmaker skin, which the other versions also got for pre-ordering. It also appears as though the physical version will only be a download since it says “Full Game Download, Game Card Not Included” on the box.

The trailer hinted that it would have gyroscopic support for aiming, which other Switch shooter ports have had in the past.

Overwatch initially came out in May 2016 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC and has seen plenty of free heroes and maps since. Blizzard has released one other game on the Switch as Diablo 3 came to the system in November 2018. Hopefully, the version will be on par with the others, which isn’t always the case. The updates for the Mortal Kombat 11 Switch version seem to lag behind its counterparts.
