Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have announced that Pokémon Rumble U will be arriving on the Wii U eShop on August 29th. The title will be priced at $17.99.
In case you haven't been following this game, Rumble U makes use of the GamePad's NFC capabilities to create an experience akin to Activision's Skylanders. Gamers will be able to scan in collectible Pokémon figures and play as each selected creature within the game. Each toy will also keep track of saved data, so you can bring your collection of figures to a friends house.
A total of 18 figures will be available for purchase at GameStop. Each will cost $3.99, but don't worry, purchasing these toy's isn't required for play. Pokémon Rumble U features both solo and co-op play, supporting up to four players at a time.
Are you interested in this toy-centric Pokémon game? Could this be an experiment by Nintendo to see if a full-scale Pokémon toy game is worth pursuing on the Wii U? Sound off in the comments below and let us know what you think.
