Nintendo Leverages Public Wi-Fi Spots To Increase American StreetPass Frequency

For Japanese players, StreetPassing is a lot easier. That country's focus on public transportation and high population density means a lot of consumers will find fellow 3DS owners wherever they go (so long as it's a populated area). In America, it's been a lot harder to pick up StreetPasses, until now.

Nintendo is updating the 3DS and Nintendo Zone Wi-Fi locations with the ability to relay StreetPasses, meaning even if you don't walk right past another 3DS owner, you might still pick them up if they visited a Nintendo Zone before you.

Nintendo Zone Wi-Fi spots are literally everywhere. AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots, GameStops, airport Wi-Fi services, McDonalds…. the list goes on and on, so get ready complete that puzzle panel, defeat the ultimate ghost in Find Mii 2, and even progress further in those new DLC StreetPass games.
