PS4 Records Last 15 Minutes of Gameplay, Xbox One Only The Last 5

The Playstation 4 will indeed continuously record the last fifteen minutes of your gameplay session, according to a Sony representative speaking with CVG today, after confusion arose when reports quoting Neil Brown, head of SCEE's R&D group, said that it would only record the last "seven" minutes.

At first glance, who gives a who-ha-dilly about eight more minutes? Well, considering that the Xbox One will apparently only record the last five minutes, Sony can then use this as a comparison point in their column. I mean, it is three times the length.

Both the PS4 and Xbox One will allow users to edit and crop their footage and share it using Ustream for PS4 and Twitch.tv for Xbox One. How detailed and how much depth these editing features will be might make a difference to those who record gameplay footage frequently.

Players who have a casual, low-key Let's Play setup may choose the PS4 just on its DVR recording length alone, so that they have more material to edit and not have to upload their footage as many times.

That said, will either of these consoles support DVR for regular cable? Hmm…
