Ninja lashes out at Epic Games over recycled Fortnite skins

If there is anyone in the world that Epic Games should pay attention to concerning the state of Fortnite skins, that person is Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. Ninja has expressed his opinion on Fortnite skins, revealing that he disapproves of the current pathway, albeit in an extremely polite manner.

While playing with partner Malachi ‘Reverse2k’ Grenier, Ninja said that he would like to see some new concepts, new ideas that aren’t mere reskins.

“I’m not going to lie to you bro, and I mean no disrespect to the artists that put hundreds of hours into these skins, but I really would like some new skins,” Ninja said. “Some new concepts that aren’t just reskinned. I feel like they’re releasing a lot more of the same skin with a different colorway, or a different mask,” the Fortnite streamer added (via Dexerto).

The Fortnite skins Abstrakt and Street Striker were used to illustrate his point of view. The similarities between the skins are uncanny, right up to the detail of the “TT” letters on the hat: “He’s got paint, hoodie, gas mask, ‘TT’ on his hat. What is the actual difference? You’re literally purchasing the same skin, and they’ve been doing it more often than not.” He adds another Fortnite skin to the mix, Hot Zone, once again sporting the same hoodie and style, but this time with a covered face.

Ninja then says what he would like to see Epic Games do. His suggestion is that the studio stops releasing these reskins and instead drop some rarer skins that haven’t been around for a while. The next step would be to take some time to develop some “super creative skins and ideas.”

Considering Ninja’s status as the top Fortnite streamer in the world, it’s highly likely that Epic Games takes his feedback in a very serious manner. If you start seeing new and awesome Fortnite skins in a few weeks, the Mixer star probably played some part in that event.
