Update: Remedy has now confirmed that Control won’t be coming to Xbox Game Pass, despite Xbox boss Phil Spencer’s comments.
“The information about Control coming to Xbox Game Pass as reported on a recent Mixer stream is incorrect, a tweet from Remedy reads. “We have no news or announcements regarding Xbox Game Pass at this time.”
Original Story: Control is coming to Xbox Game Pass, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has revealed during a Mixer stream. While the game hasn’t been officially revealed for the subscription service, Spencer is certainly the authority on all things Xbox, so it seems that Remedy’s action game will be launching on the platform in the near future.
Spencer made the comment during an Extra Life stream on Mixer, joining 343 Industries’ Justin Robey and producer Ethan Rothamel in a stream of Halo: Reach. During the stream, Spencer described how he was excited for Control to launch on Xbox Game Pass so that more people would get to play it.
“I thought Control was really good,” Spencer said during the stream. “It didn’t reach enough people, so I’m glad to see it’s coming to Game Pass so hopefully more people will play it, because it’s a game that should be played from our friends at Remedy.”
