Dino Crisis remake raptors

Dino Crisis remake, Power Stone, and others may be coming

With all of the hype around the Resident Evil 3 remake, will we now be seeing a Dino Crisis remake? How about a Power Stone remake? Well, with the batch of trademarks that Capcom just filed, we might be getting exactly that.

A thread on ResetEra highlights a whole bunch of trademark filings by Capcom that have just been made public in Japan.  Considering the success of the second Resident Evil remake and an upcoming third game, this could be an indication that they’re diving into the back catalog for games like a Dino Crisis remake or remasters of these other titles.

Here is the list of trademarks that have been spotted thus far and what the games are all about:

  • Cyberbots

A fighting game spin-off of the beat-’em-up game Armored WarriorsCyberbots only saw limited release in Western arcades and never made it to Western consoles.
  • Dino Crisis

A survival horror video game that’s very similar to the Resident Evil titles, but with deadly dinosaurs as enemies instead of genetically-engineer zombies.
  • Power Stone

A 3D arena fighter where players could use weapons and also claim the titular Power Stones to become even stronger.
  • Progear no Arashi

A rare shoot ’em up that features an actual plane instead of a spaceship or some kind of magical anime witch.
  • Tech Romancer

A 3D fighting game where mechs beat the crap out of each other.

While Capcom has filed this trademarks, it’s important to note that this isn’t necessarily an indication that they’re doing remakes for any of these games. It’s just as likely that they’re trying to keep them up to date as part of their regular housekeeping or considering them for a retro bundle.

However, it’s also possible that Capcom is developing one or more of these titles into brand-new versions like they’ve done with Resident Evil. So, will we see a Dino Crisis remake? We can’t say for sure, but a girl can dream.
