Warner Bros brought Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate with them to PAX Prime which means Nick Tan and I will get hands-on with the portable adventures of the Dark Knight this weekend! While Arkham Origins on console puts players back in the cape and cowl in an open 3D environment, this portable Batman is content in 2.5D.
The trailer above sets the story with some comic-book styled cutscenes, but keep watching and you'll see the game in action, complete with dramatic camera angles, fisticuffs combat, and a few shots of predator-stealth action. Armature is developing the game separate from WB Montreal and the work that studio is doing on Arkham Origins for console, though it should be noted that the new "younger" Batman voice remains the same between both games.
I'm happy to see some in-engine cutscenes taking place, as I'd hate for the gorgeous 3D graphics to go completely to waste. Remember, check back with GameRevolution not just for more hands-on previews from PAX Prime all weekend, but also for a hands-on preview of Arkham Origins Blackgate soon.
