Word has it that Sony is looking to make its own VR headset for the PlayStation 4. Apparently the company was planning to reveal the device at gamescom before pulling back on it at the last minute.

The report comes from multiple anonymous sources close to Eurogamer. The Sony-branded headset is now said to make its grand debut sometime next year. The racer from Evolution Studios, DriveClub, apparently makes use of the device, allowing players to look around the inside of the car.

Sony exec Shuhei Yoshida was asked by the outlet about the VR headset, to which he replied,  "We don't talk about that."

Do you think Sony is seriously considering a VR headset for the PlayStation 4? Would it be wise of them to release a competitor to the Oculus Rift? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments below.
