Rune Factory 4 Special Release Date DLC

Rune Factory 4 Special release date and DLC announced

The worldwide release date for Rune Factory 4 Special has been announced alongside a trailer revealing DLC for the game. This fantasy-themed take on Harvest Moon (now Story of Seasons) originally released on Nintendo 3DS in 2013, and now it’s coming to Nintendo Switch as an HD remaster. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on the title as it releases next month in both digital and physical form.

A Rune Factory 4 Special Collector’s Edition is also available exclusively on Marverlous’s online store. Unfortunately, it seems to be limited to European territories at this time. This version of the game retails for £55 and comes with:

  • A physical copy of Rune Factory 4 Special for Nintendo Switch
  • A 160-page artbook
  • An official CD soundtrack featuring 36 tracks
  • The Swimsuit Day DLC that adds an option to change the cast into their swimsuits
  • A premium box to hold all the above

At launch, the Another Episode DLC will be available for all versions. This DLC adds illustrated stories for all twelve marriage candidates. Another Episode will be free until March 26, but after that, you’ll have to pay $4.99 to gain access to it.

In addition to remastered graphics, Rune Factory 4 Special features some new additions to gameplay. There’s a new, harder Hell difficulty, and a Newlywed Mode, which expands on the game’s marriage stories by adding new episodes involving married life.

Rune Factory 4 Special is an excellent game for anyone who loves Harvest Moon, Story of Seasons, or Stardew Valley. There’s a great balance between raising crops, building relationships, and battling and capturing monsters to raise. The game was a hit on Nintendo 3DS, selling 300,000 copies, and the updated graphics and new content should make it even better.

You’ll be able to get your hands on Rune Factory 4 Special for Nintendo Switch on February 25, 2020, in North America, and February 28, 2020, in Europe.
