If you’ve ever wanted to play Animal Crossing on PC, you might just get your chance… sort of. Hokko Life is a newly-announced game that looks very similar to Animal Crossing — and it’s arriving sometime this year.
Hokko Life is being created by Robert Tatnell, a game developer with credits on the Fable and Magicka franchises, the 2009 Wolfenstein game, and other titles. Players are plopped down in the town of Hokko with a mission to make it better.
ALSO: Nintendo, please give Animal Crossing: New Horizons an axolotl villager
You’ll be able to gather resources, build buildings, and make friends in an effort to improve the town’s standing. The residents include a quirky mix of animal-like creatures. It looks like it’s pretty much Animal Crossing on PC, which is kinda cool.
While the game is still very much in development, you can use a stand-alone app called the Hokko Designer to create some content for the game before it launches to Steam Early Access sometime in 2020. For now, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam. You can also check out the game’s official website or support the developer on Patreon. Check out the announcement trailer below!
