Yesterday, the free-to-play, cooperative Ghosts 'n Goblin Online mysteriously but surprisingly appeared as an official Steam Greenlight project. This would have been a neat localization project for fans interested in its action-RPG gameplay, PvP mode, and an "Demonic Dimension" mode meant to be as challenging as the original retro title.
However, in an official statement from Polygon, Capcom has forced the game off Steam Greenlight:
The Steam Greeenlight page for Ghosts ‘n Goblins Online that went live yesterday was wrongly posted by the game's Korean developer, Seed 9, and the page has now been removed. Ghosts ‘n Goblins was released last year in Korea, China and Taiwan and currently there are no plans for the title to be released in Europe or North America.
Oh well, I guess we'll have to hope for Capcom to localize the title themselves. But chances look slim…
