Original PlayStation 4 Design Had 4GB Of RAM

The PlayStation 4 was originally supposed to come equipped with just 4GB of RAM. Fortunately, after receiving a substantial amount of feedback from developers, Sony decided to bump that up to 8GB, a much wiser choice if you ask me.

This news comes from GameSpot, who spoke with Sony Worldwide Studios president, Shuhei Yoshida, on the hardware. "And because we chose expensive memory…we really liked the performance, but it's pricey, right? So going to 8GB was a bit of a business decision," he explained. "But we were able to make that decision because of a lot of the feedback from developers."

How glad are you that Sony decided to double the RAM from 4GB to 8GB? Would the system even be able to compete against the likes of PC if Sony went with its original hardware plan? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
