Dying Light 2 development total mess report

Report: Dying Light 2 development is a ‘total mess’

UPDATE: Techland has denied these claims about the state of Dying Light 2, which you can read more about here.

Dying Light 2 development is reportedly a “total mess,” with one anonymous developer allegedly telling a Polish gaming website that there are several problems with this upcoming game.

The interview with the Polish site Polski Gamedev was highlighted by @LotteMakesStuff on Twitter. Polski Gamedev says it has interviewed someone who works at Techland, and it doesn’t paint a pretty picture.

Dying Light 2 is a total mess, first we had [to] focus on story, then focus on gameplay… non-stop changing game mechanics,” states one translated line. “Morale is at an [all-time] low, leadership has no idea what they’re doing[.]”

Adding to the reported troubles with Dying Light 2 development is an apparent clash between Chris Avellone and higher-ups at the publisher. Avellone wanted the game to “be empathetic, psychologically extensive[,] and multifaceted.” Now, this anonymous source says that the game’s depth has “all but disappeared.”

If this interview proves to be true, then this doesn’t exactly spell good news for Dying Light 2. However, we have been unable to independently verify the claims made by the report, so take the above with a pinch of salt. We’ll find out for ourselves when Dying Light 2 hopefully releases sometime in 2020. For now, you can add Dying Light 2 to your wishlist on Steam.
