Considering that October is the month for fests and consequential portmanteaus, Activision will be holding special celebrations and events for the upcoming Skylanders: Swap Force throughout the month in the name of "SWAPtober."
The first is a daily giveaway where Portal Masters can form a catchphrase for their favorite SWAP Force combination, out of more than 250 possible variations, and then tweet them to @SkylandersGames with the hashtags #SWAPtober and #Skylanders for the chance at winning for a Skylanders SWAP Force Starter Pack.
Then in the middle of the month, SWAP Force will be taking over the local New York City area on October 10 with several events in Time Square where fans can play the game, attend SWAP Force-themed activities, catch photo-ops with Skylanders-costumed mascots, and get a chance to nab hands-on time before the game releases three days later for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and Wii. It's also slated as a launch title for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Toys"R"Us, who has named the title as one of the 2013 "Fabulous 15" on its Holiday Hot Toy List, will also be renovating their flagship store in New York City on October 12 and 13 with a one-of-a-kind event with game demos and further giveaways of Skylanders: Swap Force.
