It looks like there’s a new Halo game in development at 343 Industries. While Halo Infinite is likely to launch before the end of the year, the developer of this popular first-person shooter franchise already has its eyes on the future.
The reveal came from a job listing on the Microsoft Careers website that is looking to fill the role of a full-time Senior Producer with a specialty in Engineering.

“343 Industries is looking for a Senior Producer to work with our Core Services team to help develop a new project in the Halo universe,” reads the job listing. “This is your chance to work on one of the most exciting and creative intellectual properties in the industry with one of the industry’s most talented teams.”
The opening paragraph of the job listing is a little vague, so one might wonder if this is actually for a new Halo game or if it’s for some other kind of entertainment set in the Halo universe. However, subsequent information in the job listing (via ResetEra) has more concrete details.
“You will partner with multi-discipline teams and drive feature and systems creation, specs, planning and execution,” states one paragraph in the “Responsibilities” section; this is a good indication that this will be an interactive experience. However, the real meat is further down in the qualifications.
This job listing for a new Halo game requires that the Senior Producer has the following experience:
- 5+ years in games development doing senior-level work
- 8+ years in the games industry
- 1+ AAA title production
- Managed multiple features and teams through 2+ product lifecycles
- Passion for games
Considering that the Halo Infinite release date is already set for sometime in the Holiday 2020 season, it seems that there’s a good chance that a new Halo game is in development.
That said, this job listing doesn’t quite count as an official announcement so we can’t be completely certain; it’s possible that this could be Halo Infinite DLC, a port of one of the other games, or some other related project. Either way, we’re sure to hear more about this
