Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake has been leaked by its own publisher, with Ubisoft accidentally leaking the game on the Russian Uplay storefront. A series of images were released taken from the as-yet-unannounced game, with this suggesting that an official announcement could be imminent.
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time already received a remastered edition back in 2010, two years after its original release. However, Ubisoft is seemingly remaking the game this time around, though its first images have already raised some concerns.
Two images were lifted from the Russian Uplay page by ResetEra user AndrewDTF, taken from a banner ad for the game. The ad has drawn criticisms, with some feeling like this early footage doesn’t look too dissimilar from the original 2008 game:
However, industry analyst Daniel Ahmad, who had previously teased that a new Prince of Persia game was on its way, claimed that “the gameplay looks much better” on Twitter. “This is such a bad way for the game to leak,” he added.
While many are already posting their criticisms of this early footage, it could well be that the final game looks better than this first glimpse at the game. Leaks happen, and they often aren’t representative of the final game. Hopefully, we’ll receive official confirmation sooner rather than later, so we can see what the actual game looks like.
