Yesterday, at an event with tons of hands-on opportunities for Sony's PlayStation 4 launch lineup, Sony informed us that Sound Shapes will make the jump from platforms it's currently on (Vita and PlayStation 3) to PlayStation 4 in consumer-friendly fashion.
If you've bought Sound Shapes previously (and you should have), you'll have a PS4 version to download at launch totally free as part of the game's Cross-Buy function.
Even if you don't own Sound Shapes, but plan on joining the PlayStation family, Queasy Games and Sony Computer Entertainment have added a few new features to keep the ball rolling on your new next-gen console.
The DualShock 4's touch pad has been fully integrated with the game so creator tools can now be touched on console as they are on Vita, even allowing for a little fun in the menus.
One of Sony's press reps showed me how the albums in campaign mode can be scratched and played with on the touch pad, but I don't know what other hidden functionality has made it in.
The rep also pointed out that the light-bar on my DualShock 4 pulsed and changed color with the music. Sound Shapes is still one of my favorite Vita games and it'll be nice to revisit the community and enjoy my favorite level-and-music-building suite in 1080p. Certainly the Deadmau5 campaign levels looked bright and retro-evocative during yesterday's demo. Look out for more on PS4's launch lineup in the coming weeks.
PlayStation 4 launches in North America on November 15th.
