An Animal Crossing Switch console restock is finally coming six months after the game’s launch. The Nintendo Switch – Animal Crossing: New Horizons Edition proved wildly popular and sold out fast, but you soon might be able to get one without paying crazy prices — and Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards are coming back, too!
The March 2020 debut of Animal Crossing: New Horizons had a bunch of surprises for fans of the franchise. One of these was a special edition Nintendo Switch console featuring Tom, Timmy, Tommy Nook on the dock along with other cool aesthetic touches.
Unfortunately, this special-edition console proved wildly popular and sold out quickly. It soon became nigh-impossible to find one of these consoles unless you were willing to pay a premium; it’s still available on Amazon right now at a higher price. Now, Nintendo has made the happy announcement that the console will soon be back in stock at “your local retailers” — and that’s not all that’s on the way.
Firstly, everyone who grabs the newly-announced Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fall Update will get a free Ring-Con item in the game. You don’t need to own Ring Fit Adventure to get this freebie, but you can finally buy Ring Fit Adventure at a sensible price after several restocks.
Aside from the Animal Crossing Switch console restock, the highly-popular Animal Crossing Amiibo cards will also be coming back in stock. While you can still buy the Animal Crossing Amiibo cards today, they keep going out of stock and you will likely have to pay a premium. Animal Crossing Amiibo cards Series 1–4 will arrive at select retailers sometime in November 2020.
The news of an Animal Crossing Switch console restock is certainly great for people looking to pick up a cool Christmas gift, but it’s not all good news. Nintendo didn’t specify which retailers will have the console and when. GameStop has a listing for the console for now, but you’ll have to wait in line and hope for the best.
