The Pokemon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra Expansion Pass has tons of new content

Pokemon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra Expansion Pass Galarian Star Tournament

The Pokemon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra Expansion Pass opened with more details about the new DLC region. The first major new addition is “Dynamax Adventures,” a series of caves for Trainers to explore that are home to many Legendary Pokemon. This mechanic will also feature the return of every single Legendary Pokemon that has appeared in the franchise thus far.

The Galarian Star Tournament is another big addition in the Pokemon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra Expansion Pass. This new competition will feature Trainers facing off in double battles against some of the strongest Champions and Trainers in the game. The tournament will be unlocked after players have adventured for some time in the Crown Tundra.

Restoring all of the game’s Legendary Pokemon is another step towards remedying the game’s National Dex controversy, but there has yet been a firm announcement on the other missing Pokemon. That said, the addition of Dynamax Adventures and the Galarian Star Tournament in the Crown Tundra build on a game that has helped to evolve the Pokemon franchise in new ways.

Finally, Trainers will be able to unlock eight special Pikachu by entering secret codes onto the Pokemon website, the first of which is “P1KACHUGET.” The Pokemon Sword and Shield Crown Tundra Expansion Pass will launch on October 22, 2020. Nintendo will also be launching a Pokemon Sword and Shield + Expansion Pass packaged bundle on November 6, 2020.
