Ariana Grande has said that a lyric in her song ‘Six Thirty’ is a reference to Mario Kart, with the singer adding that she would now update it to be in reference to the PS5 exclusive Sackboy: A Big Adventure, which she recently completed.
Ariana Grande fielded Twitter questions from fans about her music, with one follower asking which video games she was referencing in ‘Six Thirty,’ a track taken from her sixth studio album Positions. The lyric reads: “Watcha gonna do when I’m bored and I wanna play video games at 2 AM?”
Grande noted that when she wrote it, she was referencing the Nintendo Switch games Mario Kart and Mario Party, but that her play habits have changed since then. “If I sang it right now, I’d be talking about Sackboy,” she said. “We beat Sackboy and that’s a big one. It was a doozy, that game.” (We also agreed that it’s a doozy in our review.)
The official LittleBigPlanet Twitter account acknowledged the singer’s reference, saying that it was “literally music to our ears!” that she had enjoyed the game. “Our team and our wonderful community are super-excited to hear that it’s Sackboy: A Big Adventure that you wanna play at 2AM!” the LBP account tweeted.
They added that Sackboy was a “big fan,” causing Ariana Grande fans to fall over themselves with excitement in the replies. “Never thought in a million years you guys would acknowledge the queen,” one Grande fan tweeted in a wholesome response.

But this isn’t the first unlikely Ariana and video game crossover. Back in 2017, the singer appeared in the mobile game Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, with her likeliness being used for the character Dangerous Ariana. She also reappeared in the game as Chic Ariana, a summonable unit that also shared the singer’s appearance.
In another display of her video game appreciation, Ariana also got a tattoo of her favorite Pokemon Eevee back in 2019. “I’ve wanted this for so long,” she wrote in a caption alongside a photo of the tattoo on Instagram.
