What is the release date for Disco Elysium: The Final Cut

Disco Elysium The Final Cut Release Date Announcement

The Final Cut was announced in December 2020 but only had a nebulous release date of “2021.” We now know that the game is coming sooner than anyone anticipated. Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is releasing March 31 as an update for PC and Mac, and for the first time on PS4, PS5, and Google Stadia. Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S versions are planned, but aren’t anticipated to release until Q3 2021.

Disco Elysium was one of the sleeper hits of 2019, and we were blown away by its unique take on the CRPG formula. It was one of our best-reviewed titles of that year, and our sentiment has been shared elsewhere, with the game receiving universal acclaim. In addition to The Final Cut, at least one other Disco Elysium project is currently in the works. DJ2 Entertainment, which co-produced the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, has optioned the franchise for a TV series.

Fortunately, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is likely to be the cap on what is just the first in a series of games. Speaking with GamingBolt, lead writer Helen Hindpere stated:

“The future holds more of Elysium – we’ve spent years designing the world and we’re not ready to leave yet. Martinaise is just a slice of Revachol – and Revachol just a single capital among many others. Who knows where the future will take us?”

Again, players don’t have long to wait to play the definitive edition of the game. Disco Elysium: The Final Cut releases on March 31, 2021, on PS4, PS5, Stadia, PC, and Mac.
