Sony has confirmed that while its next-gen console will support voice commands, its capabilities will be rather limited at launch.
A representative from the company told Engadget that users won't be able to turn the device on with voice commands using the PlayStation Camera on day one. Fortunately, however, there are still plans to add that in, along with other commands later on.
So what will you be able to command your PS4 to do on launch day? Well, you can tell it to power off, as well as open games. Sadly, no voice control will be supported within third-party apps at launch. Hopefully, that will be coming later as well. When can we expect these additions? That still remains a mystery, but here's to hoping it happens in the first half of 2014.
Sony's got a lot of post-launch patching to do.
