Rocket League x Fast 9: Fast and Furious crossover adds F9 Pontiac Fiero, Nissan Skyline

Rocket League has revealed its Fast 9 crossover, with the car soccer game collaborating with Fast and Furious to add three new cars into the mix, including the F9 Pontiac Fiero.

Rocket League x Fast and Furious 2021 DLC

Rocket League’s new cars were revealed during the Summer Game Fest opening ceremony ahead of E3 2021. The new DLC will include:

  • F9 Pontiac Fiero
  • Dodge Charger
  • Nissan Skyline

The Nissan Skyline is an old favorite for Rocket League players, who have hoped that it would return to the game since its removal from the Item Shop in 2019. The car was initially added as part of a promotion for 2 Fast 2 Furious, before being removed by Psyonix and leaving fans wondering when it would return.

The F9 Pontiac Fiero is a new addition to the game, with it adding a highly customized variant of the real-world American mid-engine sports car. It’s clearly the highlight of this new package, with fans swiftly expressing their approval on social media.

The DLC was debuted in a brief segment during the show, in which the three cars were shown dropping out of a moving plane in typically overblown Fast and Furious fashion. While Rocket League is more known for its cartoony aesthetic and its over-the-top gameplay, this isn’t the first time the series has used real vehicles. The game previously collaborated with the Fast and Furious franchise back in 2017, and is now making its return to the film series.

The Nissan Skyline, F9 Pontiac Fiero, and Dodge Charger will all soon be purchasable in-game, with them seemingly not being added to one of Rocket League’s Battle Passes. This is in keeping with Psyonix’s previous handling of its DLC, with some new vehicles added to the Pass, while other require in-game purchases to get a hold of them.
