UPDATE: Sony is now working fast to remove the trailer from social media and video-sharing platforms, with uploads of the footage being taken down by the company.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer has leaked online, with it spreading across social media ahead of an official release from Disney or Marvel. The trailer’s CGI is unfinished and the video circling the internet is a recording of an iPhone screen, though the new scenes featuring Peter Parker, Doctor Strange, and co. indicate that this is really footage taken from the upcoming movie.
The new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer seemingly confirms the existence of the multiverse in the movie, with Alfred Molina’s take on Doc Ock appearing in the final scene. Given the shoddy quality of the recording — it’s currently unclear who captured the video and published it online — the rest of the trailer is difficult to make out, though it sees Peter and Dr. Strange casting a spell that seemingly brings characters from Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man movies into the MCU. Fans have also suggested that a flash reminiscent of Electro’s attacks can also be seen, suggesting The Amazing Spider-Man will also be represented in the upcoming film, as has been routinely rumored.

The leaked trailer was doing the rounds on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, though Sony has been issuing copyright orders to remove the footage from the platforms on which it was hosted.
Fans have been awaiting the first Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer, speculating what would be included and if the multiverse rumors would turn out to be true. Now that this leaked trailer all but confirms this will be the case, we now need to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield make their introduction to Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. This could either be included in a future trailer, or could potentially be saved for the film itself. Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to release on December 17, 2021.
