Even though Cliff Bleszinski is no longer with Epic Games, the "gears" in his head haven't stopped turning, as the brain behind the infamous chainsaw-equipped lancer already has a pretty good idea of what his next big thing will be.
During the latest episode of the Pointless Podcast, Bleszinski revealed that his next game will be a first-person shooter. "Well, I mean, first-person shooter," he said when asked about the game's genre. "It's in my DNA. It's one of those things that, a lot of these kids playing Call of Duty, I don't think they know what a proper arena shooter is if it hit them across the f***ing head." Considering his history with the Unreal franchise, that shouldn't come as all too much of a surprise.
As far as what platforms we might see it on, he would only go so far as to say it will be on PC. "It'll be on PC. It'll be a PC experience that'll harken back to a certain type of game that we cut our teeth on, if you know what I'm saying."
Do you think Bleszinski will be able to resurrect the area shooter genre as it was so many years ago? Is there enough room for another shooter in this industry? Let us know in the comments below.
