The 4J Studios-developed port of Minecraft for PlayStation 3 will be arriving on the console tomorrow, December 17th.
The same studio is also working on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita versions of the game, but those won't be available until sometime next year. According to Owen Hill from Mojang, "Minecraft: PS3 Edition comes with everything present in other console versions. They’re pretty much identical to play, and will be developed in tandem from now on."
There's still no word yet on whether or not there will be any cross-compatibility with the upcoming PS4 and Vita versions, but "downloadable skins and texture packs will be available from PSN soon after release."
