Star Wars 1313 Gameplay Leak

Star Wars 1313 leaked footage reveals Boba Fett gameplay

Star Wars 1313 might have been the best Star Wars game never made. The debut trailer continues to spark conversations, and fans continue to ask that development on the title be revived. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about the game despite the enthusiasm. Fortunately, a recent leak gives us a peek at Star Wars 1313 gameplay with Boba Fett as the main character, which fills in a few of the missing pieces.

What Happened to Star Wars 1313?

A YouTube video was posted by The Vault of what looks to be a behind-closed-doors teaser of Star Wars 1313. This would have been a later build since Boba Fett wasn’t originally the protagonist. The E3 2012 reveal, the one most remember the game by, starred two generic mercenaries. This leaked video is the first time we’ve seen what the game might have looked like in its final form.

Despite being a hit, the E3 2012 likely consisted of work that was already (or about to be) scrapped. George Lucas liked what he saw of the game so much that he told LucasArts to use elements from the canceled Star Wars: Underworld TV series. Ironically, the game started out as a tie-in to this series before it was canceled.

At Lucas’ request, 1313 was turned into a Boba Fett origin story. Players would have taken Fett through his early career as a bounty hunter and eventually ended up on Coruscant. In the video, we can see an open-air market located in the underbelly of that planet, as well as a chase scene that has Fett running down a mark.

Unfortunately, when Disney bought the rights to the Star Wars franchise, it shelved all the games in development at LucasArts. As a result, Star Wars 1313 will likely never be produced despite fan outcry. Its seedy, adult vibe isn’t what Disney wants for the series. After all, their grittiest work, The Mandalorian, had to have a baby Yoda to make sure things didn’t get too dark.
