EA Origin Keys Expire in Just Four Days on Humble Store

EA games are no longer available from the Humble Store. Anybody who has purchased EA or EA Origin games from the Humble Store has just four days to redeem those keys before they are rendered invalid. The good news is this does not affect any games included in Humble Bundles or Humble Choice.

When will EA Origin keys become invalid?

Those who have purchased EA or Origin keys from the Humble Store have until 5pm PDT on March 18 to redeem those keys. After this point they will become invalid. Players who are affected by this move should already have been contacted by the Humble Store by e-mail as a reminder to redeem their keys before the cutoff date. Humble will automatically try to redeem affected keys on Humble accounts that are linked to EA Origin accounts at 3pm PDT on March 17, but they still recommend players try to redeem their keys manually just in case.

Humble iterated on their support page that “this only affects Humble Store purchases and does not impact EA games purchased as part of a bundle or Humble Choice”. EA games have been removed from the Humble Store “for the moment”. No reason was given for this move but it is thought to be linked to EA’s intention to retire EA Origin and move towards a new client that incorporates its EA Play service. Twitter user Wario64 also pointed out EA’s games seem to have been removed from other PC stores like Fanatical, Gamesplanet, and GMG.

In other news, a Steam game has been reviewed after the developer put an anti-mask rant into his patch notes. Domina now has a “Mostly Negative” rating on Steam. Elsewhere, Microsoft, Gearbox Software and EA are amongst several gaming companies to have signed an open letter in opposition to the anti-trans bill in Texas.
