Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Trailer Reveals Legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon, Plus Lechonk

The new Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet trailer has revealed some new Pokémon, and the new faces include the legendaries Koraidon and Miraidon, as well as a rather cute pig called Lechonk. Players will get to meet all of these now the game has a long-awaited release date; it will be released in November.

Who are Koraidon and Miraidon?

Koraidon will be the legendary Pokémon players will face in Pokemon Scarlet, while Miraidon will be exclusive to Pokemon Violet. Details about these Pokemon are still “shrouded in mystery” right now, although they are said to “have powers that far surpass those of other Pokémon”. More details are promised for the future.

As well as the Scarlet and Violet legendaries, three other new Pokemon made their debut in the trailer, including a Normal-type Hog Pokémon called Lechonk. Despite his name, Lechonk’s body is apparently mostly muscle that he’s built up by walking around in search of food. He can find the most fragrant wild grasses and richest berries using only his sense of smell, but his diet gives him an aroma disliked by Bug-type Pokémon. When attacked, he will charge forward in panic, although his abilities include Aroma Veil and Glutton.

Pawmi is a new Electric-type Mouse Pokémon who has electric sacs in his cheeks and electricity-discharging organs on his forepaws. His fur helps to store electricity and his abilities are Static and Natural Cure. Finally, Smoliv is a Grass/Normal-type Olive Pokémon that secretes a very bitter-tasting oil from his head that has the ability to slow opponents down. By doing this, he can run away. His ability is Early Bird.

The trailer also revealed the game will have four-player online co-op where those players can each explore different locations, so be prepared to team up when the game is released on Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022.

In other news, Xbox Game Pass is adding six games during June, including Assassin’s Creed Origins and For Honor. Elsewhere, Genshin Impact’s Hidden Dreams in the Depths update arrived yesterday.
