Stormgate Beta Sign Up

Stormgate Beta Revealed, Here’s How to Register

The debut game from Frost Giant Studios, the studio that includes developers from Warcraft III and StarCraft II, made its first appearance at Summer Games Fest. Free-to-play real-time strategy game Stormgate got a debut trailer and will have a beta on PC in 2023 for which players can already register to take part.

How to sign-up for the Stormgate beta

Despite being a free-to-play game, Frost Giant’s CEO Tim Morten is adamant the game will not be pay-to-win and definitely won’t have any NFTs. If this interests you and you want to take part in the beta, players can sign up on the game’s website. The site isn’t live at the moment but should be available shortly.

Stormgate is centered around a war between humanity and several factions of alien invaders set hundreds of years in the future. The titular stormgates are portals that are opened in the middle of a giant solar storm and they unleash the Infernal Host onto future Earth with a mission to claim the planet for themselves. Two factions were revealed in the trailer, the human resistance and the demon-like Infernal Host, although the humans do have the assistance of 20-foot tall mechs to balance the outcome a bit better.

The game aims to make the RTS experience to attract both newcomers and fans of the genre alike, including features like streamlined inputs and automatically assigned units to control groups. Players need to pick their side, harvest resources, build a base, and then command “hundreds of units in epic, large-scale wars across a variety of maps and tilesets.” The campaign can be enjoyed in co-op by three players, while competitive multiplayer will have 1v1 and 3v3 modes. There will also be a level editor.

In other news, The Rock appeared live at Summer Games Fest to talk about his upcoming Black Adam movie and Fortnite. Elsewhere, Aliens Dark Descent was also unveiled during the show.
