The fifth and final class of Diablo 4 was revealed at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase. The Necromancer is a staple class of the franchise. Still, it’s getting a few changes this time around that’ll give players more chances to customize their experience.
Diablo 4 Necromancer class reveals Book of the Dead
The Book of the Dead is one of the Necromancer’s signature abilities for Diablo 4. It seems as though it’ll let players customize their undead armor and choose between skeleton warriors, skirmishers, defenders, reapers, and mages, as well as bone, blood, and iron golems.
We also learned more about the open world and what it’ll entail. There are over 140 dungeons and dozens of side quests players can pursue during their journey to take down Lilith. There are also world bosses that players can encounter on their journeys and strongholds that can be conquered and converted into friendly outposts.
We also saw a little about character customization. It looks like the system in Diablo 4 will be much deeper than we’ve seen in previous games and has a lot of options for you to tweak your avatar to be exactly how you want it.
Blizzard Entertainment president Mike Ybarra had this to say:
“We can’t wait to open the gates of Hell next year—the talented team behind Diablo IV puts gameplay first in everything they do, and they have built the biggest and most ambitious vision of Sanctuary yet. This sprawling world draws deeply from the dark well of the franchise’s 25-year history and is designed around the philosophy of player choice, offering an adventure, unlike anything Diablo players have experienced before.”
We’ll get a chance to see if Diablo 4 lives up to the hype (and whether it has a ton of microtransactions and predatory monetization) sometime in 2023.
