Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be getting an open beta before its release, but those who pre-order the game will get early access to the beta before everyone else. It appears that the beta release date may be some time in August after pre-orders for the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on Amazon said the offer would end and they would be sending out keys during that month.

The newest Call of Duty game will be getting an open beta before its release. As spotted by Twitter user Rebs Gaming (thanks Reddit), the pre-order page for Modern Warfare 2 on Amazon says players have until Monday, August 15 to pre-order the game on any platform to get early access to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 open beta. Amazon will then be sending out the beta codes on the same day too.
It is likely that these codes will be sent out so players can preload the beta and it will not begin on August 15. The open beta is also supposed to arrive first on PS5 and PS4. Even if Amazon sent out codes for all platforms on that day, it is still likely the PlayStation beta would start later in the week after a couple of days of preloading, followed by the beta on Xbox and PC closer to the weekend. Those who would rather wait for the full game to fall into their hands will have to wait until the CoD Modern Warfare 2 release date of October 28.
In other news, a Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak DLC demo is coming to Nintendo Switch and PC today. Elsewhere, Vin Diesel claims you must be excited for Ark 2 to be able to consider yourself a real gamer, and Ark: Survival Evolved is the best game out right now.
