While not the Nintendo Direct everyone was hoping for, Nintendo held a 20-minute Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Direct today and finally confirmed the rumors the game would be getting an Expansion Pass. The Pass will include four different DLC drops that will take place throughout the rest of this year and 2023.
The content included in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass
The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion Pass will have four DLC drops. The first of those is set to be released on launch day, July 29, and will include “helpful items” and color variants for the hero outfits. The next three drops promise to be a bit bigger. The second drop will release at some point before the end of 2022, although the exact date is to be confirmed. This will include another Challenge Battle, which tasks players with defeating waves of enemies before the timer ran out. There will also be a new hero character and their respective quests, as well as new outfits included in the second drop.
The third DLC drop will be introduced before the end of April 2023, although an exact date is still to be confirmed for this one too. This drop features a similar lineup to the second and includes a new Challenge Battle, a new hero character with quests, and new outfits. Finally, the fourth DLC drop will be released before the end of 2023. This will be the biggest of all, introducing a brand new story scenario, although the details on this are yet to be revealed. The expansion pass will be priced at $29.99 and none of the DLC waves will be available for separate purchase.
In other gaming news, the Fall Guys server issues continue and the Daily section of the Item Shop has been taken down to fix a “haunted” item. Elsewhere, Mirror’s Edge 3 will not be happening anytime soon while DICE continues to focus solely on Battlefield 2042.
