Pokemon Go will be celebrating its sixth anniversary tomorrow and the official anniversary artwork has been released to commemorate the event, seemingly leaking new characters and Pokémon that aren’t yet in the game. The artwork was drawn by the game’s character designer Yusuke Kozaki, lending more weight to the theories that these may be coming to the game soon.
Pokemon Go sixth anniversary artwork characters
When scouring the sixth-anniversary artwork above, as posted by Pokemon Go trainer LeekDuck, players have managed to find several new characters and Pokémon who are yet to appear in the game. In addition to two new NPCs, some of the Pokemon players have managed to find include Cosmog, Mimikyu, Turtonator, and Vivillon. There’s also the Dusk form of Lycanroc, as well as the Hisuian starter evolutions of Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott that are found in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Pokemon Go has already added some of the Hisuian forms into the game, such as Voltorb and Electrode, and more were leaked in a recent datamine, lending credence to the theory that more will be coming soon.
Of course, these theories also come with a warning that characters featured in previous posters are yet to be seen even after a couple of years. Mega Lucario was seen on the fourth-anniversary poster two years ago, while Mega Mewtwo appeared on the fifth-anniversary poster; neither currently feature in Pokemon Go. As such, take this with a pinch of salt until those listed above are actually introduced into the game. Meanwhile, those wanting to celebrate the game’s sixth anniversary can take part in the Anniversary Event and Battle Weekend beginning tomorrow, June 6.
In other news, the Xbox Games with Gold program will no longer include Xbox 360 games from October. Elsewhere, Xbox Game Pass adds 12 more games during the first half of July, including three Yakuza games and Power Wash Simulator.
