Gotham Knights made an appearance at Gamescom Opening Night Live to reveal two DC Super-Villains through the latest trailer and a new release date. However, the most surprising thing was that the game’s release date hadn’t been delayed but was unexpectedly moved forward by four days instead.
What is the new Gotham Knights release date?
Gotham Knights will be released on October 21, four days earlier than its previous release date of October 25. No reason was given for the release date being brought forward but we can’t imagine any players being upset that they get to play the game earlier than planned on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Players who pre-order the game before the new release date will get the 233 Kustom Batcycle skin, which is based on the vehicle’s first appearance in DC’s Detective Comics #233
As well as the new release date, the brand new trailer, seen above, introduces two DC Super-Villains who haven’t been seen in Gotham Knights before. Harley Quinn is a Mastermind criminal “influencer” while Clayface brings his shape-shifting skills to try and destroy the city. They join villains like Mr. Freeze and the Court of Owls that have already been revealed. Of course, we also get to see the Batman Family quartet of Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin trying to take on the super-villains as they protect Gotham City alongside a reluctant Renee Montoya in the wake of Batman’s death. The open-world action RPG will pit players against a variety of villains in epic battles as they shape themselves into a new version of the Gotham Knight.
In other gaming news, The Finals got possibly the briefest of all of the teasers at Gamescom and it was just long enough to let players know they can sign up for the beta on Steam. Elsewhere, a closed beta release date was also revealed for The Outlast Trials.
