FIFA 23 Ted Lasso Crossover Confirmed With AFC Richmond

EA has finally confirmed that the FIFA 23 Ted Lasso cameo is real, after teasing that the Apple TV+ show would be making its way to the best-selling football franchise. In a collaboration with Warner Bros. Entertainment, Jason Sudeikis’s Ted Lasso, Coach Beard, and his fictional AFC Richmond club will appear in various modes including Career, Football Ultimate Team (FUT), and Pro Clubs.

How Ted Lasso and AFC Richmond will appear in FIFA 23

Ted Lasso will be available as a playable manager in Career Mode, while the members in AFC Richmond like Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya, Roy Kent, Isaac McAdoo, and Dani Rojas can be put into Premier League or other playable Career Mode leagues. Furthermore, the fictional football club will be selectable in Kick-Off, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons. Its home stadium, The Greyhounds’ Nelson Road, has also been faithfully recreated in the game.

As for FIFA 23 Ultimate Team, you can find and select either Ted Lasso or Coach Beard as your club’s manager. It doesn’t seem as though the players in AFC Richmond will be available, but you can customize your team with the club’s authentic kits and TIFOs. Better yet, EA says that all of the AFC Richmond content can be unlocked through objectives and challenges.

Hints of the FIFA 23 Ted Lasso crossover first appeared about nine days ago when a Reddit user noticed that AFC Richmond was in the FIFA ratings database. But then the crossover was made more obvious when the official Twitter account for Ted Lasso revealed a photograph yesterday of Sudeikis surrounded by a bunch of motion-capture cameras.

Those who own FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition will be able to play the game three days earlier on September 27 before its general release on September 30. Ted Lasso won the 2021 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.

In other news, Nvidia RTX Remix won’t work with all classic PC games, and Twitch says that revenue changes will only impact 10% of streamers.
