Watch Dogs, the upcoming futuristic open-world action game from Ubisoft, will launch on Friday, April 25th, according to a new report.
GameKeysNow has allegedly heard from multiple sources that April 25th is the big day. "We are hearing from multiple sources that Ubisoft's Watch Dogs is set to release on April 25th 2014," the outlet said. "Previously set to launch late last year the title was delayed shortly before release in order to add more polish. Now it seems the buffing is almost complete and the game that has wowed critics at the last two E3 trade shows is set to finally grace us with its presence."
NeoGAF notes that this was the same outlet that outed the PlayStation Plus February content for Europe before Sony officially revealed it.
While the Friday release seems a bit odd, as games traditionally launch on Tuesdays, Examiner has commented on why this isn't that unprecedented. "The release date falls on a Friday. Although most video games are released on Tuesdays, there are a few instances, such as the upcoming inFamous: Second Son, of software products launching on the last working weekday of the week. The PS4 and Xbox One were also released on Fridays."
We'll still have to treat this April 25th release date as rumor for the time being. Here's to hoping we get official confirmation from Ubisoft in the near future.
