Killer Instinct Adds Spinal in 1.3 GB Update Today, Here’s His Ultra Combo

If you're an early Xbox One adopter, you've probably downloaded and played the free version of Killer Instinct in the past two months, possibly waiting for that one character you used to play as in the arcades. While fans have had Jago, Sabrewulf, Orchid, and others to choose from since launch, Spinal joins the ranks today in the first roster update.

I'm not too keen on Spinal's new design, just as I wasn't to sure why Orchid changed as much as she did over the years, but this Ultra Combo looks bad ass and totally brutal. I like the big ghoulish hands sticking up out of the ground to give the opponent an otherworldly one-two.

Spinal will arrive on your hard drive via a 1.3 GB update to Killer Instinct's file. This follows another recent patch that swapped Jago for Sabrewulf as the free character every Xbox One owner can use, but that's still quite a bit of data for one new character.

Spinal, like the other paid-for characters in Killer Instinct, will be added to everyone's game, whether you bought the full pack of six characters at launch or not. This is done so that the player base isn't segmented, but perhaps that 1.3 GB of data also contain other goodies and game updates.

Double Helix community manager Rich Bantegui took to the game's forums to detail one key update to Killer Instinct yesterday. That update sends players to jail if they quit out of matches too many times. For more on Xbox One and Killer Instinct, stick with GameRevolution.
